Sixteen Pizzerias, One Night: Vegas's Pizza Fest Still Bows to Naples

Sixteen local pizzerias are lining up for the sixth Las Vegas Pizza Festival this November, and underneath the Detroit squares and Sicilian slabs, the whole night still bows to Naples.

A Neapolitan Original Comes Home for One Night

Every pizza served under the Industrial Event Space roof this November traces back to the same city: Naples, where bakers first stretched dough thin, ladled on tomato and cheese, and fired it fast in a wood oven. That lineage matters to us more than most, because a proper Neapolitan pie is still one of the truest expressions of Italian cooking there is, built on almost nothing but good flour, good tomatoes and good heat.

The festival's roster leans heavily American in style, but Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana is on the list too, and its presence is a small, welcome reminder that under all the Detroit pans and New York folds, the original recipe still holds the room.

Sixteen Kitchens, One Very Full Night

This will be the sixth run of the event, presented by Greco and Sons alongside the Las Vegas Pizza Alliance, with organizers promising unlimited tastings from sixteen local pizzerias. The lineup mixes longtime favorites like Metro Pizza and Pizza Rock with newer names such as Good Pie and Esther's Kitchen, plus New York style specialists Bonanno's and Carmine's, along with Rebellion Pizza and a handful of first timers joining the party this year.

Josh Abelson, co-owner of the Industrial Event Space, put it simply when talking to Fox5 Vegas: the festival keeps getting better because it keeps bringing together the talent that defines the city's pizza scene. General admission covers all the tastings, live music and merchandise stands, while a VIP tier adds early entry, an air conditioned lounge and a complimentary drink in a commemorative glass, a nice touch for a November night that can still run warm in the desert.

From Detroit Squares to Sicilian Slabs

Part of the fun here is watching how far pizza has wandered from its birthplace. Detroit style shows up thick, crisp edged and baked in a steel pan. Sicilian arrives as a thick, airy slab closer to focaccia than to a foldable slice. New York keeps things thin, wide and built for one hand. Each one is a real regional food story in its own right, even if only one of them started in Italy.

For a table like ours, that variety is honestly kind of charming. It shows a whole city falling for pizza in as many different shapes as it can find, and it never hurts local business when sixteen kitchens get a packed house on the same night.

Why We're Cheering From the Pasta Aisle

We will not have a booth at the Industrial Event Space this November, and that is perfectly fine by us. Pizza night is a blast, and we mean that. But pizza is really just the appetizer to the whole Italian table, and there is a lot more to that table than one dish, however good it is.

3. Good Pie: A newer favorite that has built a following on thick, well charred pies.
4. Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana: The lineup's clearest tie back to true Neapolitan tradition.
5. Bonanno's New York Pizza Kitchen: Bringing the thin, foldable New York slice to the tasting table.
6. Carmine's Pizza Kitchen: Another local kitchen adding its own spin to the night's variety.
7. Esther's Kitchen: A neighborhood favorite whose presence shows how wide this festival's net has grown.
